Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our Gorkha Travels representative. After a brief orientation and introduction to your upcoming Yala Peak Trek, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Kathmandu. You can use the remainder of the day to relax after your journey or explore the vibrant streets of the capital city. Your overnight stay will be in a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu.
Today, we embark on the scenic drive to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours, winding through picturesque landscapes and small towns. You'll witness the gradual transition from bustling city life to the tranquil countryside as we make our way closer to the Langtang region. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, we'll settle into our teahouse accommodation for the night, located in this charming Himalayan village.
Our trek officially begins today as we leave Syabrubesi behind and head deeper into the Langtang Valley. The trail follows the Langtang Khola (river) through dense forests filled with rhododendron and oak trees. You'll cross several suspension bridges, passing by traditional Tamang villages along the way. Lama Hotel, nestled amidst the woods, will be our resting place for the night. Here, you'll enjoy the soothing sounds of the river as you relax in a cozy teahouse.
As we continue our ascent, the landscape gradually changes, and the views become more spectacular. We make our way to Langtang Village, which was severely affected by the 2015 earthquake but has since been rebuilt. En route, you'll pass by Ghoda Tabela and Mundu, offering glimpses of the Langtang Lirung (7,246 meters) and other surrounding peaks. Langtang Village is our destination for the day, and we'll stay in a teahouse to rest and acclimatize.
Today's trek is shorter but provides more time for acclimatization. The trail leads us to Kyanjin Gompa, a picturesque village nestled in the heart of the Langtang Valley. En route, we'll pass yak pastures and witness the stunning landscapes that define the Langtang region. Upon reaching Kyanjin Gompa, you'll have the afternoon to explore the village, visit the ancient monastery, or simply relax and soak in the breathtaking mountain views. Your accommodation for the night will be in a teahouse.
To ensure a safe ascent to Yala Peak, we spend an extra day in Kyanjin Gompa for acclimatization. You have several options for how to spend your day. A popular choice is hiking to Tsergo Ri (4,984 meters) or Kyanjin Ri (4,773 meters), which offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. Alternatively, you can explore the local culture and interact with the friendly villagers. This day of rest and exploration will help prepare you for the upcoming Yala Peak climb.
Today, we begin our journey towards Yala Peak. Leaving Kyanjin Gompa behind, we follow the trail to Yala Base Camp, located at an elevation of 4,600 meters. The path gradually ascends through rocky terrain, providing glimpses of Yala Peak and the surrounding peaks. Upon reaching the base camp, we'll set up our campsite amidst the pristine alpine environment. Here, you'll receive a briefing on the upcoming Yala Peak climb, and our experienced guides will ensure you are well-prepared for the summit bid.
Today is the day you've been eagerly anticipating – the Yala Peak summit bid. We start early in the morning to take advantage of the best weather conditions. The ascent involves navigating steep and icy sections, so your climbing equipment and the guidance of our expert mountaineers will be crucial. Upon reaching the summit at 5,520 meters, you'll be rewarded with unparalleled views of the Langtang Valley and neighboring peaks. After relishing this achievement, we descend to Yala Base Camp and continue back to Kyanjin Gompa, where you'll spend the night in a teahouse.
Our descent from the high altitudes begins today as we retrace our steps back to Lama Hotel. Lama Hotel provides a comfortable resting place for the night in a teahouse.
For our final day of trekking, we continue our descent, passing through lush forests and picturesque villages. We'll eventually reach Syabrubesi, where we'll have lunch. Afterward, we'll drive back to Kathmandu, concluding our incredible Yala Peak Trek. You'll have the evening to relax, shop for souvenirs, or explore more of Kathmandu's cultural treasures. Your last night in Nepal will be spent in a comfortable hotel in Kathmandu.
